Topton rallies for win

Matt Walker's RBI single capped a three-run rally in the ninth inning to give the Topton Rams a Berks Legion League Blue Division victory over the Fleetwood Tigers Monday at Mertztown.The Rams (4-2, 4-2) trailed 7-5 entering the ninth and cut their deficit to 7-6 when a run scored on an error. Matt Emerich hit an RBI single to tie it before Walker gave Topton the win.

Kyle Geist and Brad Stoudt each went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Topton.

For the Tigers (2-4, 2-6), Tyler Storms went 2-for-4 with four RBIs, Travis Meck went 2-for-2 and Shawn Walbert went 2-for-3.

Kutztown 11, Hamburg 0: At Hamburg Community Park, Guy Herring went 4-for-5 with two doubles and four RBIs as the Cougars (2-1 Blue, 2-1) beat the Reds (5-3 White, 8-3).

Kutztown, which finished with 16 hits, broke open a scoreless game with a five-run fifth.

Chris Rothermel went 2-for-5 with a grand slam for the Cougars. Also for Kutztown, Robbie Rarick went 2-for-4 and Steve Motika, Austin Rohrbach and Naaman Schlegel each went 2-for-5.
