Schuylkill Valley scores six runs in the first inning and prevents Muhlenberg from clinching a playoff spot.

Greg Harrison's two-run double highlighted a six-run first inning for the Schuylkill Valley Marlins in their 8-2 win over the Muhlenberg A's in a Berks Legion League White Division game Thursday at Gochnauer Field.
The game was called after five innings due to lightning.

With the loss, the A's (8-5, 10-6) failed to clinch a playoff berth.

Muhlenberg committed three errors which led to seven unearned runs for Schuylkill Valley (6-8, 6-8).

Doug Miller, who gave up four hits and two runs in five innings, picked up the win for Schuylkill Valley.

Rich Grayton had two RBIs for the Marlins.

Kutztown 12, Oley 0: At Breidegam Field, Justin Dahlquist's two-run triple and Andrew Miller's two-run double capped a five-run, first-inning outburst that led the Cougars (7-6, 8-7) over the Lynx (0-15, 0-17) in a Blue Division game.

Rivera gave up both Exeter runs in the fifth when Greg Marks' two-run double cut Gregg Post's lead to 4-2. He walked seven and struck out seven.

Keith Ortiz hit a solo home run in the sixth to give the Keys a 5-2 lead.

Luis Tavarez went 3-for-5 with an RBI, and Luis M. Rivera went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for the Keys.

Chris Murray went 3-for-3 with a run scored for Exeter, which stranded 12 runners.

Topton 8, Wyomissing 5: At Mertztown, Kyle Moser's grand slam highlighted a five-run fourth inning as the Rams (7-7, 7-7) defeated the Angels (1-13, 1-13) in a Blue Division game shortened to eight innings by a rain delay and darkness.

The Rams led 3-1 entering the fourth. Matt Walker made it 4-1 when he drew a bases-loaded walk off Angels starter and loser Kevin Mertz. Moser followed with his fourth home run of the season to give the Rams an 8-1 lead.

The Angels scored three times in the fifth off Rams starter and winner Kyle Reinhard to pull within 8-4.

Ben Pritchard went 3-for-5 and Moser went 2-for-4 with four RBIs for the Rams.

The Angels were led by Michael Salvitti, who went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Matt Heffner and Curt Mertz each had two hits.
