ATTENTION WRESTLERS: If you were unable to make the Meet the Coaches Meeting, you will need to get in contact with Beth Moore for your folders. There are important papers in there that need to be completed before you can practice. Do not wait until the last minute as the physical forms that you will need on November 2nd are also enclosed in this folder. If you already participated in a fall sport you will only need to complete the re-certification form.
Junior High Weightlifting---Orefield MWF from 3 -4:15pm
NOVEMBER 10, 2009-- PWBC Monthly meeting. Deadline to return membership forms along with Casino Night ticket orders or program ads.
NOVEMBER 12, 2009--Between 4-5 pm at High School Wrestling room will be our 2nd round of hydraftion testing for all those that did not pass the first time around.
NOVEMBER 13, 2009-LEHIGH WRESTLING--We have decided to attend the match against Penn State on Friday evening, November 13 at Stabler Arena. The booster club has enough preorders to place a group order but not everyone has paid. Please get your check in immediately. Also, if you are still interested in attending with the group what promises to be a very exciting match, please let us know right away and get your check to PO Box 191, Orefield, PA 18069-0191. Tickets are $5 each.

Congratulations to Josh Ortman (First Place) and Ethan Lizak (5th Place). This is Josh Ortman's second first place finish at this tournament. Both are tremendous accomplishments given PJW combines both AA and AAA schools.

2009/2010 Parkland Junior High Wrestling Coaching Staff

Head Coach
Glenn Schantz will be entering his 3RD season on the Parkland Wrestling Staff, his first as Junior High Head Coach. He has spent many years coaching in the East Penn School District. Glenn has been involved at all levels of their program. We are very excited to have him working with our wrestlers at the junior high level. Glenn brings much experience and enthusiasm into our program.

Assistant Coach
Andy Kuncio will be entering his 7th season on the Parkland Wrestling Staff. He is a graduate of Parkland High School. Andy was a four-year varsity letter winner and finished his career with 89 wins. He was a member of the undefeated team that won the Mountain Valley Conference in 1999. Andy coached for 3 years at Parkland before taking the opportunity to be the Head Junior High Wrestling Coach for Southern Lehigh. During that time he coached side by side with legendary Coach Thad Turner, the former head coach at Lehigh University. Andy brings a vast knowledge of wrestling experience to our program. He is a graduate of Kutztown University with a degree in Business.

Assistant Coach
Tom Yankanich is returning to the Parkland Wrestling Staff this season. He is a graduate of Parkland High School and coached the Junior High Wrestling Program for seven years in the 1990’s. In the hiatus, Tom coached the Bethlehem Catholic Hawks’ Elementary Program for six years. Tom is a graduate of Columbia University, where he was a 3x varsity letter winner and co-captain his senior year. Tom is currently a Special Education teacher at Parkland High school.

Nick Irwin will be entering his 2ND season on the Parkland Wrestling Staff. He is a graduate of Parkland High School. Nick was a four-year varsity letter winner and finished his career with 84 wins. He was a District XI finalist and 3x District XI place finisher. Nick was 3rd in the Northeast Regional and a PIAA state qualifier. Nick is currently attending school at Penn State at Lehigh Valley.
